许巍的歌
by tonny.xu on Oct.21, 2006, under Be alive, Misc

by tonny.xu on Oct.11, 2006, under Be alive, Foreign Languages

Some Oxford textbook
by tonny.xu on Aug.19, 2006, under Foreign Languages
Oxford HK had present some magnificent English textbook.
I just know that names of sport teams’ might use eigher singular or plural, but always take a plural verb. So we should say "The Jazz are playing against the Chicago Bulls." and should not say "The Jazz is playing against the Chicago Bulls.". One more thing, teams are always referred by the name of places where they come from, in American, that means should use singular, while in British, it always use the plural, just like this:
- Cincinnati is having a great season.
- Norwich were disappointed with the score.
When we refer the sports in general, we can use "do sports"[British English] or "play sports"[America English]. Acctually, I was never aware about these things before.
The following words may help us to understand a particular sports better. Guess what’s its meaning.
{football} [Dribble] [tackle] [pass] [shoot] [goalkeeper] [save] [goalle] [goal] [goalpost]
{Tennis} [serve] [receive] [net] [court]
{basketball} [dribble] [pass] [dunk] [basket] [hoop] [backboard]
{cricket} [bowl] [bowler] [bat] [batsman] [wicket] [wicketkeeper]
{baseball} [pitcher] [bat] [batter] [home plate] [catcher] [pitch] [first base]
{track event} [starting block] [the 100 metres] [the relay] [baton]
{track & field} [the hurdles] [lane]
{field} [the long jump] [the high jump] [the javelin] [the discus] [the hammer] [the shot put] [the pole vault]

by tonny.xu on Mar.22, 2006, under Blog System
I used to use pLog as my blog system, but after I move my hosting providor to DreamHost, I found that, WordPress is so Cool, and I decided to transfer my blog system to word press.
Except those comments was losted, all the other blog entry are all alive.
That’s most important!
WordPress provided a convenient way to transfer all the old blog entries via RSS 2.0, I had been confused by pLog’s system by incorrect RSS Date format. For 2 days long, I finally found out that I missed the local files which I choosed in pLog system.
Of corz, when u know where is wrong, fix it will not be a big problem.
:-p

Still not so good at writing English and Japanese
by tonny.xu on Jan.06, 2006, under Foreign Languages
On the last day of 2005, I wrote a piece of shit, after I finished that shit, I suddenly found that I still not so good at writing English and Japanese. Within 30 miniutes, I wrote about 2,400 words in Chinese. But, I dont' think I can wrote so much in english.
I am not a native English user and I found that biggest problem is I don't know how to express myself accurately. In chinese I know every word and their exactly meaning, but there are a lot of slang in English and I don't know how to use it accurately!
Damn it! I need to live in a English country!
and SO IS My Poor Japanese!
